What if the King of Pop left behind one final performance… in paint? Hidden Hangar 7 in Santa Monica California guards Michael Jackson's secret collection of 100+ original works of art.
For more than three decades, one of the most intriguing artistic partnerships in music and fine-art history has remained shrouded in mystery, tucked away from the eyes of even the most dedicated fans. Now, that veil is lifting. The extraordinary works born from the Jackson-Strong Alliance are finally stepping into the light, giving fans their first real look at a collection many have only whispered about for years.
In December 1989, Michael Jackson and Brett Livingstone Strong formed the Jackson-Strong Alliance (JSA), a formal California partnership created to explore and celebrate fine art. Jackson, already a global icon known for his boundary-pushing creativity, partnered with Strong, an internationally respected master painter and sculptor. Together they produced original portraits, sketches, visionary paintings, and collaborative pieces that blended Jackson's personal vision with masterful technique. Among the most iconic works from this era is the master painting known simply as "The Book" — a portrait of Michael Jackson created by Brett Livingstone Strong that was originally sold for $2.1 million.
The collection, which includes more than 100 original paintings and related works, found its home in a private hangar at Santa Monica Municipal Airport, Hangar 7, and an adjacent second hangar. Fans heard rumors of a secret vault filled with these artworks, but the full scope stayed largely out of public view. Occasional glimpses surfaced in private conversations or unverified stories, yet the complete story remained hidden… until now.
The mystery is now being examined in federal court. On February 23, 2026, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California granted a motion to reopen the long-closed Chapter 7 case of Brett Livingstone Strong (Case No. 1:05-bk-10137-MB). An adversary proceeding is actively underway (Adversary Proceeding No. 1:26-ap-01016-MB). The court is carefully reviewing the provenance, ownership history, and status of the collection under well-established Ninth Circuit precedent regarding concealed personal property.
The original buyer of the estate assets in the 2007 § 363 sale is now asserting ownership of the collection, which was never disclosed in Brett Livingstone Strong's original 2005 bankruptcy filing. Once the federal court confirms title, the new owner is committed to preserving and honoring the legacy exactly as Michael Jackson envisioned.
This confirmation will open an exciting new chapter. The owner plans to organize a major art exhibit that will allow fans worldwide to experience these works in person for the first time. Proceeds from the exhibit and related offerings will support children's hospitals, exactly as Michael Jackson always wanted through his lifelong humanitarian efforts.
As this historic case moves forward, fans will soon have a rare chance to own a piece of the legacy. A strictly limited edition of just 300 serigraphs pulled directly from the original "The Book" masterpiece is already secured and prepared for authorized release. These museum-quality prints represent the first official offering connected to the reopened proceedings and the Jackson-Strong Alliance collection.
Every detail of the collection's journey is now part of the public federal record, allowing fans to follow the story as it unfolds in real time.
